Rai with one of the supposed accused.
According to the victim, he explained that the
supposed culprits offered him tea and served him a sumptuous meal at one of the
roadside motels. They had regular conversations with the accused which gradually
aggravated the matter into a serious tone. Rai claims that he was asked about the
details of some of the religious monuments located in Nepal's Capital city, Kathmandu.
On failing to satisfy the reply, the accused asked him to produce documents to verify
his identity. He said that he made a plea for not being able to verify the sight
and locations of Kathmandu for the fact that he had not visited Kathmandu
himself. On the contrary, they accused him of being a fraudster and asked him
to prove that he has an identity. Rai convinced them saying he had not carried
the original document but had the digital copy of the documents available in
his possession. He reiterated that the accused insisted on asking for the
original documents.
On failing to produce the original documents,
Rai claimed that they started assaulting him. Besides he happened to make a recording
of the incident. Although the video does not show the actual matter which he
claimed was an ‘assault’ one can see the clippings of the accuser frequently
asking him to stop recording.

Meanwhile, the video recording shows people flocking
to the scene making the traffic to a standstill for about an hour. Some local
bystanders sympathize with the victim by bringing the attention of the police
constable who, in turn, directed him to report the matter to the nearest police
station. The Police Inspector of the Area Police Station arrives at the scene
and led him to the station for further investigation. The Officer investigates
and solves the issues and finally renders logistics help to the victim. Rai, in
the end, tries to make his statement positive by saying, “Not all Indians are
bad. Some are good and helpful, and I am very happy about that.” He graciously
thanked the Police Officer for his kind gesture and hospitality.
